TV is Going Online

If you own your own business you have probably thought about or used television as an advertising medium for your product or service. But have you ever thought about advertising with online TV?

Perhaps your local market isn’t ready for online television advertising just yet, but it’s coming and it’s coming fast. With the advent of Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) and devices such as Apple TV it won’t be long until a computer-like device is standard in almost every home entertainment center. Several major players have emerged with working PC-based prototypes for watching some of your favorite programs online and on demand. Of course, high speed internet access is required to properly view this content. While providing an interesting alternative to traditional television advertising, this medium is still in its infancy, so advertising space is sparse and some of the bugs have yet to be worked out of the system.

Here is a quick look at two of the largest competitors in the area of online television, Joost and Veoh.
