Earth Hour is Tonight!

March 29th, 2008

In Case you haven’t heard, tonight Cities around the world including us here in Moncton will take part in the 2nd annual Earth Hour. At 8pm tonight we have been asked to turn off our lights for an hour to bring greater awareness to climate change.

Earth Hour started last year in 2007 when the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in Sydney, Australia held the event with great success. This year more then 200 major citiesĀ  will take part. 100 of which are here in North America including major Canadian cities such as Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver and major companies such as HP and National Geographic will also take part. A week or so ago the City of Moncton in their monthly newsletter asked it’s residents to join in on Earth Hour 2008 and I know I for one will be plunging into Darkness at 8pm, probably curled up with another design or marketing book and a candle.

What are you doing at 8pm tonight?
