Last week, we gave you a chance to explore the world of online video and how to market your business with it. The big trend-setter of course is YouTube, but there are always alternatives if you wish to further your video promoting ventures.

What we’re looking at this week are some of the top alternatives for video posting, to be used in conjunction with, or as alternatives to YouTube.

Google Video

If you don’t follow technology news all that closely, Google Video was Google’s version of YouTube and was in direct competition with the latter for some time until YouTube finally stood up and took precedence as the web’s leader in online video. Google responded by purchasing YouTube for, well let’s say… a lot of clams. Since YouTube burst onto the scene, people from all corners of the planet have flocked to post their vacation videos, favorite television clips, sporting highlights, video blogs, and countless other personalized videos to share with the world. Everyone has something to say, and they now have a place to say it. What a coincidence! Your business also has something to say…

YouTube doesn’t have to be just for the tweens and folks sitting in their office cubicles waiting for the boss to pop by. It can be an extremely effective tool for promoting your business. I’m not just talking about putting up your company’s television commercial either. Just think, using YouTube to post instructional or how-to videos on your products, video testimonials, support videos, trade show marketing videos, upcoming promotions, etc. The possibilities are endless.
